TELL US ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA MFA PROGRAM:
This is truly a fabulous program. It is individualized and students work one-on-one with a different
mentor each semester. Mentors care about the students and relationships are developed.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS GRADUATE PROGRAM FOR CREATIVE WRITING?
The faculty, one-on-one mentoring, and biannual residency.
WHAT DO YOU FIND ARE THE KEY BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM?
The opportunity to work individually with a mentor who pushed me, listened to me, and yet made
certain I retained my voice. Getting to know the faculty and other students well, making connections,
and the twice yearly residencies.
WHAT ARE YOU HOPING YOUR MFA DEGREE IN CREATIVE WRITING WILL DO FOR YOU?
I entered this program for myself, but perhaps it will provide me with the opportunity to teach creative
writing and make me a better English teacher.
