The Honey Land Review Fall 2008 Volume 1, Issue 1

I've followed an innate appetite for the arts as an actor, musician, model and writer but never found
a true connection between inspiration and fruition until I picked up a camera. I have always
considered myself a poet and have incorporated that discipline of economy into my photography.
An early infatuation with Zen philosophy is reflected in my work. Each photo is a haiku. Instead of
trying to capture the huge panoramas of wilderness that present themselves out here in the Pacific
Northwest, I prefer to condense the experience to a few simple elements that epitomize a universal.
Although I have no native "blood" that I'm sure of, I follow the Native American Spiritual path which
has instilled in this New York City lad a deep love of nature. Even if a recent encounter with a family
of bears has strained that relationship.
In keeping with my philosophy of simplicity my goal is to accomplish digital photographic art with the
most accessible tools. I shoot with a Canon PowerShot A570IS camera, edit with Photoshop
Elements and freeware and exhibit with the online gallery included in Elements.
