The Honey Land Review Submission Guidelines
The Honey Land Review is published twice a year. The reading period for each issue is as follows:

                                 December 1 – April 31                 Spring Issue
                                 May 1 – September 31                 Fall Issue
                                 October & November                   Submissions Closed!

Please do not send us submissions in October or November.  You may not get a response.

Poetry Submissions:

  • Please submit 1 to 5 unpublished poems.

  • Only submit your work once per reading period.

  • Include your name on each poem.

  • DO NOT include a biography with your submission.  It is important to us that we make unbiased
decisions based upon the quality of your work.  We will require your biography only if your work
    is chosen for publication.

  • Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as we are notified if the piece is accepted
    elsewhere.

  • The Honey Land Review does not solicit donations and works hard to keep our site advertising
free.  As a consequence, The Honey Land Review is unable to pay authors for accepted work.
Hopefully our gratitude and having your work read internationally counts for something!

Graduate Student Spotlight Feature:

The Honey Land Review has designed a spotlight feature to highlight the work of current graduate
students.  Our intention is to maintain a forum where graduate students can showcase their work as
well as provide some insight into the many wonderful creative writing programs available to writers
today.

If you are a current MA or MFA graduate poetry student at an accredited university and would like to
be considered for our Graduate Student Spotlight Feature, please indicate as such in the body of the
email containing your submission.
The Honey Land Review will consider your work for both the
Graduate Student Feature as well as with the “open call.”

Photography Submissions:

  • The Honey Land Review is open to most subject matter as long as the work is technically
proficient and conceptually interesting and unique.

  • Upon acceptance, each contributor retains copyright of their work, while The Honey Land
    Review receives first publishing rights.

  • We are not currently providing payment for the photography used in our journal, however we
hope that you will view our site as a method of further exposing your work to a larger (and
    international) audience.
